Description
Grow a garden containing a special mix of wildflowers to attract a wide diversity of birds.
These seedballs have been created in collaboration with scientists at The Natural History Museum. The mix is designed to be a sustainable option to buying bagged bird feed. The plants will boost the food supply for a wide range of birds including goldfinches, blue tits, chaffinches, greenfinches, robins, starlings. Whilst in bloom the flowers will attract insects that many birds feed on, while birds will also feed directly on the plants and seeds themselves.
These seedballs would make a lovely gift on Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, a birthday or to say thank you to a teacher.
Made From
Each seedball contains approximately 30 seeds from a mix of wild carrot, poppy, great knapweed, tufted-vetch, corn marigold and sheep sorrel.
They are best scattered in Spring or Autumn.
All the flowers within the seedballs are on the RHS Plants for Pollinators list which makes them ideal for bees and other pollinating insects.
Dimensions
Each tin has 20 seed balls, enough to cover 1 metre square in a garden bed or 3-5 medium sized pots (leave at least 10cm between each ball).
